The World Health Organisation (WHO) has mentioned that the incidents of violence against health workers had been not acceptable.

“The idea of violence against health workers is driven by fear and misunderstanding, it’s really unacceptable and we ask everyone in every community to see them as heroes and support in every way we can,” WHO Executive Director Dr Mike Ryan advised India Today TV.

WHO to Issue Guidance for Ramadan

Commenting on the rising instances related to the Tablighi Jamaat gathering in India, WHO has mentioned that there are at all times dangers related to such gatherings within the midst of a significant epidemic.

Responding to India Today TV’s query throughout an interplay, WHO Executive Director Dr Mike Ryan mentioned, “We have been working very-very closely with faith-based organisations from all over the world, including from Islamic tradition. We are also continuing to develop guidance, specifically for the holy month of Ramadan, and are working through our eastern-Mediterranean regional office to be able to advise governments and religious institutions, on how best to manage the risk associated with such holy events.”
