Shramik Special train ferrying migrants from Mumbai to Gorakhpur ends up in Odisha


New Delhi: Migrant staff returning from Mumbai to their hometown in UP through Shramik Special trains had been baffled after they discovered themselves reaching Rourkela in Odisha, and never Gorakhpur.

The train, which started from Maharashtra’s Vasai Road for Gorakhpur misplaced observe in a single day and as a substitute reached Rourkela, reported News18.

Passengers, indignant and confused, when questioned officers, they had been knowledgeable by the officers that the train’s driver had misplaced his means due to some mix-up, the portal mentioned.

Congress chief RPN Singh additionally shared a video of a passenger of the train narrating his ordeal.

Some netizens claimed that it was unimaginable for the motive force to make such blunder, whereas others claimed that there was a risk that the railways by mistakenly boarded the migrants on a incorrect train.


Railways says it was diverted, a ‘temporary move’

Western Railway issued a clarification over the incident, saying that it was a brief association to deal with the heavy congestion on one railway route.

Despite the clarification, the query arises as to why the migrant staff travelling in the train weren’t knowledgeable.
