BJP promotes ‘Make in India’ but buys from China: Rahul tweets chart to target Modi govt


New Delhi: Sharpening the assault on Modi authorities, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday tweeted one other chart to target the Centre amid the stand-off with China.

Amid requires boycotting Chinese merchandise after India-China face-off in jap Ladakh, Rahul Gandhi took a jibe at Modi govt’s Make in India mission, claiming that imports from China have elevated underneath the NDA regime.

“Facts don’t lie. BJP says: Make in India. BJP does: Buy from China,” Gandhi tweeted together with a graphic of the share of imports from China throughout the UPA rule and the NDA authorities.

This additionally comes a day after the Centre banned 59 Chinese apps to ship a robust sign to the neighbouring nation amid the Galwan faceoff.

The graphic claims that imports from China have been at 12-13 per cent when the Congress-led UPA authorities vacated workplace in 2014 but now stood at 17-18 per cent in 2020.

The Congress chief has been vehemently focusing on the Centre on the India-China border scenario after 20 Indian troopers have been killed in violent face-off with Chinese troops in Ladakh’s Galwan valley earlier this month.
